WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES
Every rupee tells a story.
Your contribution through Sadbhavna Dham in Rajkot, made out of your generosity, is turned into actual life changes; giving life to abandoned animals, planting the seeds which will grow, and allowing the elders to be given the respect that they deserve after a lifetime of contribution to society.
Giving is more than just giving; it is a revolution that transparency and compassion merge, and every single rupee causes waves of positive change not only in Gujarat but also in places far away.
DEEPER MISSION DISCOVERY OF SADBHAVNA DHAM
Sadbhavna Dham, established on the Independence Day 2015, is presently a renowned humanitarian organization that helps various needy groups of society at the same time.
Located in Rampar on the Rajkot, Jamnagar highway, the organization is based on the philosophy of inclusiveness, where people from all religions, castes, and economic classes are welcome.
For the last ten years, the organization has been taking care of more than 650 senior citizens who are either childless or homeless. But the mission goes much beyond senior care. In the works is a state of the art facility that will cost ₹300 crores and will be built on 30 acres of land, which will be able to accommodate 5,000 senior citizens.
Tree Plantation: Giving Life to Gujarat’s Landscape
The environmental project is one of the most ambitious projects undertaken by Sadbhavna. The organization has been able to plant over 3 million trees in Gujarat in the last eleven years, aiming to add 1.5 billion trees to the country’s landscape.
What makes this project so special is not the number, but the fact that the organization aims for 100% survival rates of the trees. Each tree is invested with ₹3,000 over a period of 34 years, including every detail from the selection of the sapling to its protection and monitoring. The organization employs 1,100 people to take care of the trees and 450 water tankers to ensure that the trees get adequate water. The trees are protected by guards, and their growth is monitored at various stages to ensure that they survive for a long time.
By the implementation of the Miyawaki method, the non-profit has been successfully creating over 225 dense plantations. This method refers to a Japanese technique of making self- sustained mini forests that grow at a rate ten times faster than regular plantations.
These mini forests provide a habitat for more than 100 species of native flora, hence, maximum biodiversity is guaranteed. Besides, the mini forests serve as natural air processors, temperature stabilizers, and animal shelters in cities. Among the initiatives are the 1111 Billy Van and 7575 Peepal Van projects, where large parts of lands are enclosed and planted with tall seedlings in a pit of one meter deep with drip irrigation systems.
The organization was started based on the observation of the horrible condition of stray, injured, and disabled dogs wandering the streets of Rajkot. What started as a small gesture of kindness has now become a shelter of 21, 000 square feet where dogs who had nobody can now find dignity replacing despair.
Today, 150 disabled and abandoned dogs are taken care of daily at the center, provided with nutritious food, medical treatment, and proper housing. The shelter is always open to a veterinarian to check on the animals, making sure that wounds are taken care of, animals are kept healthy and each dog is loved instead of hurt. Meals are served throughout the day so that no dog who has been rescued ever suffers from hunger.
The shelter is a lot more than just a place where animals can survive. It is a renewal of their level of living. Dogs who were forcing their way through the traffic in terrible pain are now in the comfort of their homes. Those who used to rummage for food are now given nutritious meals.
Badad Ashram: Honoring Working Bulls
In a move which is really revolutionary and deeply rooted in India’s agricultural traditions, Sadbhavna established the Badad Ashram, a sanctuary solely for abandoned and injured bulls. While the protection of cows has been a long, standing cultural norm, bulls often become the invisible casualties of progress. Farmers who have depended on such animals for plowing and transportation may abandon them and switch to mechanized farming once the bulls become economically redundant.
Currently, the ashram is a safe haven for 1, 600 deserted bull calves who would otherwise be left to suffer on the streets or die due to neglect. Through your contribution, these noble creatures that have tirelessly served the agricultural sector for years will continue to be provided with food, shelter, and care in a calm and peaceful environment. The ashram recognises that these animals deserve their dignity and comfort in their old age as a gift for the agricultural service they have given.
Animal Hospital: Emergency Services for the Voiceless
This animal hospital is a lifeline for injured and ill animals in the area. It is a dedicated medical center that provides care to innumerable animals who would otherwise suffer in silence. Whether it is emergency trauma care or chronic medical support, this hospital fills a void in veterinary services for those who cannot afford private practice.
Your donation will help cover medical materials, surgical equipment, medications, and salaries for veterinary staff. It will also help to provide care that can range from simple first aid to complex surgery. For stray animals, accident victims, and abandoned pets, this hospital is the difference between life and continued suffering.
Vruddhashram: Dignified Living for Senior Citizens
The eldercare facility is an initiative aimed at addressing a social issue of increasing concern: elderly people who do not have children, are homeless, sick, disabled, bedridden, and always in need of being taken care of. In a world where the traditional family units are sometimes breaking down, these older people are frequently left on their own and without adequate care.
Your eldercare donation enables elderly residents to enjoy free lifetime shelter with all the facilities: nutritious meals, medical attention, leisure activities, and spiritual care. The facility is a welcoming one, available to all senior citizens without discrimination of their religious or financial background. Besides yoga classes and cultural events, the activities also include community meetings which help to reduce loneliness and enhance the psychological well, being of seniors. The facility which is going to be built soon will significantly increase the present capacity of the establishment while integrating modern healthcare facilities so that the elderly will not merely survive their old age but also lead a flourishing life.
THE RIPPLE EFFECT: HOW YOUR CONTRIBUTION MULTIPLIES IMPACT
It is the interconnectedness of initiatives that makes the Sadbhavna model unique. Tree plantation activities not only serve to sequester carbon, but they also help to establish peaceful spaces for senior citizens and shade for animal shelters. The presence of senior citizens who bless newly planted saplings gives emotional richness to environmental causes, connecting generations and species in significant ways.
The generation of employment opportunities is another aspect that has been overlooked. With 1,100 employees solely responsible for maintaining tree plantations, and other teams responsible for animal shelters and eldercare facilities, donations go directly to supporting employment in rural Gujarat. This is not merely employment; it is also a chance for people to engage in significant service while earning respectable wages.
Community engagement turns passive beneficiaries into active participants. When villages take up plantation programs, the community itself becomes environmentally conscious, going beyond the scope of Sadbhavna’s activities. Schools that include tree planting in their educational programs teach future generations. The organization acts as a catalyst, triggering cultural transformations.
TRANSPARENCY IN ACTION: FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Sadbhavna Dham is a registered entity under the Manav Seva Charitable Trust, which is registered with the government and qualified for income tax exemptions. This provides a legal structure for the entity to ensure that the tax treatment of donations is appropriate while ensuring that the entity is accountable.
Regarding tree plantation, the costing is transparent: ₹3,000 per tree for all care. This specificity allows for exact impact calculation, as ₹30,000 plants ten trees, and ₹3,00,000 creates a complete miniforest. This removes any ambiguity regarding resource allocation.
REAL STORIES: TRANSFORMATION IN ACTION
The senior citizens who attend tree blessing ceremonies feel a renewed sense of purpose. They realize that, having been rejected by society, their blessings still have potency—that their presence is not insignificant in the nurturing of new life.
Rescued dogs, who earlier limped through traffic to avoid kicks, now come to meet strangers with their tails wagging. Animals who earlier lived on garbage are now maintaining healthy weights. The change in behavior from fear to trust is not only indicative of physical healing but also emotional healing that quality care brings.
Bulls, who earlier collapsed from exhaustion while pulling heavily loaded carts, now sleep soundly in open areas. Animals who worked in farms for decades are now being retired, not abandoned. Areas with Miyawaki forests have recorded a reduction in temperatures, an improvement in air quality, and an increase in bird populations.
YOUR ROLE IN THIS STORY
Your gift is a contribution to a living heritage. The trees you aid in planting will be providing shade to the great grandchildren whom you will never meet. The animals you rescue will have less suffering. The elderly will experience the power of community rather than loneliness. These effects trigger a chain reaction that results in cultural transformations of kindness and environmental awareness.
Transparency means more than just bookkeeping of the funds. It’s about demonstrating how each and every rupee causes a positive impact. At Sadbhavna Dham, your generosity is not spent on vague causes. It is turned into trees that grow in a specific location, animals being cared for, and seniors living with dignity and happiness.
Together, we are creating a more compassionate Gujarat one tree, one life, one act of kindness at a time.
